The Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo organized the exhibition MAM 60 at the building called OCA to celebrate its 60th anniversary. The curators Annateresa Fabris and Luiz Camillo Osório included all the modern and contemporary art production. With more than 500 works, including 45 from the first collection of MAM-SP, donated to USP [University of São Paulo], and presently kept in MAC-USP [Museum of Contemporary Art-USP], as well as 200 documents, among catalogues, folders and exhibition posters, letters, projects and contracts, that retrieved the history of one of the most relevant museums at the National artistic setting.
MAM 60 started with a segment of historical Modernism from the first half of 20th Century to our present time, focusing on the difficulties of the institutionalization of the modernist ideas as much as its possible and problematic condition nowadays in the contemporary setting.

A documental segment occupied the ground floor in OCA, where the visitors could find some central aspects of MAM´s history, from its foundation in 1948 to our present time.

By displaying documents of different kinds and works associated to specific times of the museum´s life, the show offered the visitors a broad view of a complex history characterized by the search for an identity (the foundation and development of the collection, the relationship with the Museum of Modern Art of New York, the first exhibition, the constitution of the Biennial Foundation), by the loss of direction (the dissolution of the collection in 1963) and by the discovery of a new identity, in which the contemporary turned out to be the main dimension (from 1963 to our present time), without excluding the presence of the modern.

In addition to the show, MAM organized the exhibition “Frans Krajcberg: Natura”, also at OCA, with more than 60 sculptures of the Polish artist living in Brazil.
